# Manage Calendars

 In this section **Exception Calendars** will be explained in details. **Exception Calendars** are used to calculate the due date of a **Task Instance** in a **Process Instance**. **Exception Calendars** can be also used with **Timer Events**.

**Note**: only the general administrator can manage **Exception Calendars** because these are global to all **Bpm Applications**.
